Wood Pellets

Wood pellets are small, typically 6mm in diameter and no more than 15mm long. They are made from processed sawdust and wood chips that have been dried, heated and compressed. When heated and exposed to high pressure, lignin, the binding component in wood, softens and allows the wood product to be shaped and pressed into a pellet.

By using wood byproducts that would otherwise go to waste, wood pellets create a heating source that has very little negative impact on the environment. In some parts of the country, wood pellets are made from trees killed by an insect infestation. If those dead trees were left to decompose in the forests, they’d produce more greenhouse gases than they would if not used for heating purposes. People who heat their homes with wood pellets are using a clean, carbon-neutral renewable fuel that emits a low level of particulates into the atmosphere. Wood pellets contain nothing but wood.

Our wood pellets are manufactured using 100% virgin wood using only timber from renewable forests. Wood pellets are easy to store, easy to handle, and they burn efficiently giving a high calorific value due low moisture content.

Using fuels such as wood pellets for commercial and domestic properties ensures a clean, effective heat as well as a clear conscience for its users. Our raw materials are produced from managed, renewable sources to ensure sustainability of supply for future generations.
